Three U.S.SOCOM Members Earn 'Elite' Status at the SpecialOps Paintball 'Elite Weekend'
Event
Undoubtedly the Woodsball event of the century, the
SpecialOps Paintball 'Elite Weekend' yielded 3 U.S.SOCOM Elite members and proved
to be much, much more. Tons of free stuff, live machine guns, incredible scenarios,
all the free paint you could shoot and even the Chopper Guns, paled in comparison to the extraordinary paintball play
by some of the top Woodsballers in the US. "The sportsmanship here for the
last 3 full days, was better all around than any event I have ever been to in my
18 years of play." U.S.SOCOM National Commander Storm, recalled. "I am amazed at
the Integrity of ALL of the guys out here. The sport of Woodsball needed something
like this to prove its place in paintball history and show the Nation what we're
really all about. This truly was an amazing Experience!"
The Elite weekend was good to U.S.SOCOM, awarding the coveted 'Elite' status to
one of the best snipers U.S.SOCOM has to offer, John J.C. Cooley, from the Kentucky
command, a speedy dagger from Arizona Logan 'Nightmare' (who also earned his 'Mechanized
Infantry' badge by dishing out millions of rounds of paint from the SpecOps Razorback
during Sundays Super Game) , and of course, your always
psychotic, (somewhat off) fearless leader, Commander Storm (also from AZ). Pictured

U.S.SOCOM SPPL at DDay 2007 Lands 4th and Another Trip to the National Finals - This
Time Pixelated
After a fast start where the
US SOCOM team saw a 3-0 start and finishing 3rd overall in the SPPL seeding with
a decisive win over Wetworkz in the initial rounds, the national team was happy
to see their efforts over the past year pay off with another qualifying run at the
DDay field in muggy OK. Pretty good for a team that has never practiced together.
Although SOCOM fell to 4th overall in the final round, this 8th day of June 2007
marked the 1 year anniversary of the SOCOM team extending it's reach nationally
to players across the US. Players participated from Florida, Lousianna, Texas, Colorado,
Washington, Arizona, New Jersey and California and made this anniversary day a special
one with another great day of woodsball play. In addition, this qualifier was extra
special for the members of SOCOM as they will now have their ugly mugs pixelated
by Greg Hastings in the forthcoming Woodsball video game for XBox/PC/Playstation
in early 08. Hoorah SOCOM!
Thanks to Special Ops and the
SPPL, Dewayne and the DDay staff, Jayson, Johnny, Jan, Curtis, Alan, Wookie
and the Refs, our sponsors/endorsers, and all of the teams that participated. Congrats
to the Commonwealth for earning the coveted Sportsmanship Award. Wetworkz, you guys rock! Thanks for the action. Band of Bros, once again your sportsmanship and
integrity shows no bounds. Hooyah!
See SOCOM Event Pictures page for some action shots of the SPPL action.
Stay tuned for stories detailing
the events and a few of the infamous moments of gameplay in the SOCOM trenches..

April 2007
Sponsorships and Endorsements Roll In
April was a good month for the U.S. SOCOM Group as several endoresments and sponsorships
in the works were becoming a reality. When the smoke cleared, an endorsement
from SpecialOps Paintball and the SPPL, Pryme Radio and BlastRadius Woodsball Podcast,
along with some sponsors jumping in like SummitPaintball and a few others still
in the works. "We want to send out a big Hoorah to everyone that is supporting
us and we hope to make this year even better for all of you."

US SOCOM Earns SPPL National Sportsmanship award at the
SPPL Finals in Oklahoma!
Great job SOCOM players! US SOCOM ATOs from
across the US, came together to participate in the National SPPL Finals on a frigid
weekend in Wyandotte, OK for a shot at winning the National SPPL Championships.
After enduring a series of unfortunate events, and shooting soup intead of projectiles
for most of the weekend, the Integrity of the SOCOM Brotherhood stood strong and
they were awarded the prestigious National Sportmanship Award, totalling more than
$11,000 in prizes. Hooyah SOCOM!
Special thanks to Rory, Jayson, DeWayne, the Reffing
